So, the kids are now back to school – hooray! – but we had one last job to do before they went back, which was to get my daughter trousers for school. O.M.G. We traipsed round the shops for four fruitless hours before we found a compromise.
That’s not to say we didn’t find trousers before that. We did, lots of them, but not in her size – why can’t people put things on the right size of hanger? My life would have been so much easier if the first pair of trousers we found had been on the right sized hanger, but no that would have been way too easy. You’d think by now I would be ready for it. I have a fussy teenager, I should be able to deal with it by now.
Anyway, the compromise trousers have yet to be worn. I went back into town on my own on the Monday before they went back, went back in to the first shop we had been in and found the trousers she had liked in her size. Only one slight problem – there was only one pair! Let’s hope they get more in at some point as I don’t think one pair will last the whole school year and I’m not going through that again. I know – famous last words.
Does anyone else share my pain?
